Happy 4th of July

Heute ist der 4.te Juli, der Unabhaengigkeitsfeiertag der USA.Wir haben gegrillt und das Lokal war zu.Leider war es verregnet und wir konnten das Feuerwerk nicht sehen. Today is the Fourth of July-Independence Day.We had a BBQ and the Restaurant was closed.Unfortunately it rained and we could not see the fireworks.

Date-night-Ausgeh-abend

Heute abend hatte ich ein Date mit meinem liebsten Mann.Erst Dinner ( bei MacDonald) und dann Kino: Ratatouille.War sehr schoen.Leider schlief mein Date waehrend des Films kurz ein und sagte auch auf der Heimfahrt kein Wort mehr.Und einen Gutenacht-bussi gabs auch nicht..... Tonight I had a date with my favorite guy.First Dinner ( at MacDonald) and then movie-night: Ratatouille.Was really nice.Unfortunately my date fell asleep during the film and even in the car did he not say a word either.And forget about a goodnight-kiss....

Baderatten-Fun in the tub

The cousins have a blast together in the tub! It is a special treat for all! Die Cousins haben viel Spass zusammen in der Wanne und das ist mal was ganz besonderes!

Private Chef- Privat-koch

Last night I had the luxury of having "my private chef" cook for us on the grill and stove. We had a great dinner and a good time.Tobias was happy to have a man at the grill with whom he could share some guy-time and afterwards kick some soccer balls around. It was a nice evening for all of us I'd say!
Gestern abend hatte ich den Luxus " meinen privaten Koch" an den Grill und Herd zu stellen, der fuer uns alle gut kochte. Tobias war ganz happy das er mal wieder maennliche Unterstuetzung hatte und zusammen grillen und anschliessend ein paar Fussbaelle schiessen konnte.Es war ein netter Abend und wir alle hatten unseren Spass...und danke Herr H. fuers Mitmachen!

Empty nest- Ausgeflogen

Wir hatten in den letzten Wochen einen Hausgast bzw.eine ganze Famile hatte es sich bei uns am Haus eingerichtet. Ein Vogelpaaerchen flog wochenlang emsig umher den Nachwuchs in diesem Nest zu versorgen.Wegen ihnen liess ich in der Kueche die Fensterlamellen unten damit sie nicht erschreckt werden wenn wir uns drin bewegen.Nun sind sie alle fort und der Kleine ist ausgeflogen! During the last few weeks we had a whole family of birds live with us in that nest that they built next to the kitchen wall.They flew back and forth for weeks feeding their offspring.I kept the shades down so that they would not be disturbed to much by movement inside the kitchen.Now they are all gone, the nest is empty.

Our summer-nanny-Unsere Sommerhilfe!

Since 10 days I have much needed help at home and around the house.Josie has arrived from Berlin.She is a gem! She is a nice and mature young woman who takes care of many things for me, is fun and fits right in! I am glad she came! Seit 10 Tagen habe ich eine Hilfe, Josie aus Berlin.Sie nimmt mir einiges ab und sie ist eine nette junge Frau die genau bei uns reinpasst.Sie ist ein Goldstueckchen! Bin ich froh das sie da ist!

Treework- Baumarbeit

There were several trees that were dead and needed to be removed and cut down.But with no man I was not able to do anything about it until my visitors from Germany attacked them and took care of them! In no time at all the big logs were down and cut.Some were even split for the winter so that I can fire them up in the wood-burning stove when the time comes.The rest of the wood is waiting for a willing guy who is eager to split them for me! Any volunteers?? Mehrere Baeume im Garten waren tot und trocken und haetten abgesaegt werden muessen aber ohne Mann konnte ich dagegen nichts tun bis die maennlichen Besucher aus Deutschland das mal eben in die Hand nahmen.In Null-Komma-Nix waren die Staemme unten und zerschnitten und manche sogar noch zerhackt damit ich es im Winter warm habe.Der Rest des Holzes wartet nun auf einen Mann der es zerhackt.Freiwillige vor?!
